Editor’s Picks: June

It’s officially SUMMER! Which means this month we’re turning our attention to a few choice beauty picks that understand the fun in the sun assignment. In the mix, we’ve got body care covered with an affordable body wash that delivers a luxe experience and elevated results through multi-shower days (because 🥵), a tinted serum that meets our need for lightweight complexion coverage, a Canadian-made redness reliever and a vibrant makeup must-have that answers the seasonal call for high energy vibes – and rings in for less than $20. Consider us locked in, and LFG!

My summer of outside (IYKYK) just got brighter!

Available in a dangerous amount of must-have shades, a sizeable stick unleashes an incredibly creamy formula that’s easy to trace along your lash line, blend out for a sheer wash or build up for an opaque accent on lids. Then it sets into a waterproof and transfer-proof finish with 12hr wear that outlasts any and all the fun I’m having.

Okay, you know I love a glow,

but this serum outdoes all the other versions I’ve tried and it leaves your skin with a finish that’s truly divine. The bottle contains pigmented microdroplets that burst on your skin to provide a tint that’s light and juicy. It’s a best of both worlds beauty product as you get the benefit of subtle coverage with skincare pluses like antioxidant-rich gingseng and vitis flower for a hydrating boost.

It’s giving Hammam spa-level silky suds!

An in-shower upgrade loaded with all manner of skincare actives (there’s niacinamide, BHA, collagen peptide, and vitamins C and E), this body wash delivers a luxe experience that belies a very affordable price tag. Beyond gentle cleansing, I emerge with skin that feels hydrated, brightened, smoothed and more evenly toned below the neckline.

The beauty biz has been a-buzz

about snail mucin for a while, but the idea of patting it all over my face makes me a little queasy. This new serum from the Brit brand promises the same hydrating and strengthening benefits but instead employs a bio-based ingredient derived from Japanese roots and plants. Every time I use it, my skin rejoices. It becomes instantly soothed, less red and seriously hydrated, not to mention extra plump and dewy.

On a quest for extra-smooth limbs this summer?

Try this for more than mere moisturizing. A gentle version of vitamin A (aka retinol, always tops for skincare refining) joins nourishing argan oil and gets an antioxidant kick from quercetin to make this body cream blend effectively knock out bumps or rough patches without irritation. Plus, the whipped texture (more like a bouncy gellified cream IMO) is deliciously light to the touch.

This cream had me at cica.

A multitasker that can be worn as an overnight mask or a moisturizer, its ingredient list reads like a who’s who of super soothers. Along with centella asiatica, it’s packed with ceramides, calendula, shea butter and vitamin B5, a combination that soothes my redness almost on contact. It has quickly become a non-negotiable in my routine, along with being a gorgeous hand cream to boot.
